Daily Joe: 1+1+1+1

Updated: Oct 26, 2021

Happy Wednesday!! Today is my last day working on Wife Bait, but I didn't want to skip my blog. Today, I'm doing a 1+1+1+1 blog.

ONE STORY I LOVE TO TELL

That one time when my dog locked me out of the car...

Once upon a time when I was in college, my family had a dog named Rags. Rags used to come with me everywhere. So one fall day, we were heading out some place. We were in the car, ready to go. He was excited because he just knew he was getting a hamburger from McDonalds. That little Bichon was trembling with excitement.

The car's engine was running and I was about to pull out of the driveway when I realized I hadn't locked the front door. So I hopped out of the car, ran up there, discovered I really had locked the door then ran back to the car.

And this was where things went horribly awry.

This car didn't have automatic locks, but did have some pretty snazzy push locks on it. Rags was so excited to see me that he pawed excitedly at the door for me to hurry up and get in. And locked the driver door. And believe it or not, locked all four doors the same way. So... here's my Bichon, in the running car...

And my purse...in the car on the front seat.

And my spare keys...in that purse.

And yes, this was where I thunked my head into the side of the vehicle.

Dog in car. Car running. Purse and keys in car. House door locked...

Rags panting away and still quivering with happiness as he grinned up at me...

Not my finest moment.

My neighbor happened to be home and helped me break into my house (disturbingly easily). I called my mom at work (this was before cell phones--which probably would have been in my purse anyway). My mom had to get a ride home to bring me my other spare key. But before she did that, she had to tell all her coworkers and my brother who worked in the building too. Everyone knew.

It took a while, but Rags finally got his burger.

And that...is my infamous dog/car story.

One Song I Love to Sing

This is a difficult one. I do love to sing. Usually 80s music.

I think that probably my favorite song to sing is Bohemian Rhapsody. ALL. THE. PARTS. High and Low. The song, by the way, isn't even from the 80s. It gets a pass. Actually, I think I like singing 70s music even more than 80s music, now that I think about it.

But Bohemian Rhapsody? It's a masterpiece and just incredibly fun to sing.

Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?

What does that even mean???

Do we even care? Did you just sing that?

One Food I Love to Eat

*disclaimer: I'm disqualifying chocolate and doughnuts from this answer.

I LOVE potatoes. All potatoes. Bad day? Potatoes will make you feel better. You can bave them a million different ways. Baked with butter. Baked and loaded with taco filling, cheezy broccoli, or chik'n gravy (spellings may seem odd because I'm vegan and those are the non-meat/dairy spellings)

When I just want warm comfort food: Mashed potatoes and mixed veggies.

Fast side dish? Herbed potato cubes.

Scalloped potatoes...potato salad...Greek potatoes...potato soup.

Seriously. POTATOES!

It's the perfect food. And there are so many different types.

Oddly though, I'm not a big fan of potato chips.

Okay...final ONE of my 1+1+1+1.
