Guest Author: MK Moore

I have a few authors whose books I one-click without even reading the description. MK Moore is one of them and I'm thrilled to welcome her to the blog today!

Author’s lives intrigue readers and other writers. Tell me about your typical daily schedule.

I wake up, do some work, and then I get down to writing. My fuel is Dr. Pepper and pretzels.

Do you have a pre-writing routine to prepare yourself to get down to business?

Nope. I just open my doc and get to work.

What’s your writing style? Slow and steady? Quick and prolific? All over the place?

Definitely all over the place.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned since starting work in this industry?

Not everyone is your friend.

What are you working on now?

A Duke For Carolyne and Keeping Her Safe with Elisa Leigh

What’s your favorite genre to write?

Safe, contemporary erotica.

Do you have a favorite author or someone you look up to in the industry?

C.M. Steele.

Tell me your writing story…when did you decide this was what you want to do? How long did it take you to get “the call”? When were you first published? Etc.

I have always written. In 2017, I decided to take the leap!

How many books have you had published and for whom?

I have self-published roughly 63 books. I have several co-writers and we get it done!

What is your goal as a writer?

To have a movie made of one of my books. It’s a pipe dream, but you never know!

What do you love most about writing?

The quiet. It’s just me and my words and there is a peace in that.

What’s your latest release? Can you tell us about the book and how you got the idea?

Love and Candy Canes came out 7/29. It’s about a celebrity chef and the heir to an ice cream company. I loved writing it.

What’s your writing space like?

I have several, but they are all essential oil diffusing, comfy chair areas.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

Hang out with my hubby!

I’m all about ‘giving people something to talk about’. We all experience crazy things from time to time. Can you tell us something unusual that you’ve done or had happen to you?

Hmmm. I had a stalker once. About twelve years ago, a guy I worked asked me out. I went out with him and then immediately regretted it and declined a second date. That same week he was fired for harassing another female co-worker. He followed me to the store and my younger brother threatened him. Thankfully, I never heard from him again. It’s not always as hot as it seems in books, but I do love that trope.

Tell us… What’s your favorite movie and why?

Groundhog Day. It’s so funny and I love Andi McDowell in the role of Rita.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with readers?

I love you all. I am amazed every single day that people want to read my books, so thank you for reading me!
