Guest Author: Pixie Chica

I am so so so excited to have Pixie Chica on the blog today. Since the day I met her, she's been a delightful breath of fresh air in my day. I know you'll love her as much as I do. So join me in welcoming Pixie Chica to the blog today!

Author’s lives intrigue readers and other writers. Tell me about your typical daily schedule.

My day is pretty hectic. I am always running from one place to the other. I write either late at night of when I can squeeze it in during the day. I am up at 5:30 am every morning and usually ends around midnight. One moment I could be at the gym and the next on my way to three towns over, and every day is quite different.

Do you have a pre-writing routine to prepare yourself to get down to business?

I would love to say I’m one of those organized authors who have all their things together, but I’m totally not! I write when the urge hits me and that’s usually in the middle of the night or when I’m driving.

What’s your writing style? Slow and steady? Quick and prolific? All over the place?

It’s definitely all over the place. Some days it’s like pulling teeth, and others I can’t stop writing.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned since starting work in this industry?

Self-Publishing is hard and takes a lot of work, but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

What are you working on now?

Right now I am working on releasing Teacher’s Pet. It’ll be my third Novelette, and I have about four others in the works.

What’s your favorite genre to write?

Insta-Love Romance!

Do you have a favorite author or someone you look up to in the industry?

I look up to so many, and I’ve met so many encouraging authors willing to help out. I’m in awe of how much everyone does, and how welcoming they’ve been. I do have to say that you’ve become one of my new favorites! But if I had to pick just one author I would say Alexandria Sure, her romance is unlike any I had ever read. Her books call to me on a deeper level, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s a total sweetheart in person.

Thank you :-)

Tell me your writing story… When did you decide this was what you want to do? How long did it take you to get “the call”? When were you first published? Etc.

I have been writing since I was a teenager, but I never thought it would pan out into something published. Believe me I read some of the old stuff and I cringe, but there was some promise there. I decided to take the leap last November, I was determined to put out a Christmas Short called Mistletoe, but the holiday came and went. I wasn’t ready it would take another four months, and a title change before I let my first book baby out to the world. Sealed with a kiss, is what it eventually became, and I’m so proud of it.

How many books have you had published and for whom?

I’ve had two published and about to have a third here in a few weeks. I’ve published for myself and hope to continue that.

What is your goal as a writer?

I guess the ultimate goal is making this a career, but for now that at least someone enjoys my stories.

What do you love most about writing?

It let’s me express the ideas in my head. It’s crazy as a child I would cook up these insane stories with multiple characters, and as I got older I thought… I’m nuts. It seems I wasn’t nuts, just an author.

What’s your latest release? Can you tell us about the book and how you got the idea?

My latest release is In Plain Sight, and it’s the second book in my Always and Forever Series. It follows the story of Travis and Ann Marie, two individuals who have had to face some very troublesome pasts but find love in each other. The idea came to me as I was finishing Sealed with a Kiss, but the plot dramatically changed over time.

What’s your writing space like?

It’s a mess! Mostly because it’s really anywhere I have a chance to write. I carry a few USBs with me with all my work, and I write wherever I can. Sometimes that’s the desktop in the living room, my laptop, or my office in my room.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

Taking care of my mother, being a wife, and a kick ass sister. I enjoy family time and value it over everything else, so that’s where I spend most of my time. I also enjoy driving through town with the windows down and the music blaring. Although not during the summer it’s so hot in Florida!

I’m all about ‘giving people something to talk about’. We all experience crazy things from time to time. Can you tell us something unusual that you’ve done or had happen to you?

I have my own Intsa-love story and that’s why I’m inspired by it so much. I told my now other half that I loved them the next day, and it holds through until this day. I also attended college at 16, but not because I was uber smart. I dropped out and got my GED three weeks later. I was enrolled in college within a couple months after that and the rest is history.

Tell us… What’s your favorite movie and why?

Oh bringing out the hard questions I see LOL. This is a total toss-up between three movies, and no I can’t decide. It’s The Proposal, He’s not that into you, and The Greatest Showman. I’m a sucker for a good love story, and these three have some of the best.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with readers?

I absolutely love when you all contact me. I love making friends with readers and it’s so much fun to interact. I’m so happy so many have embraced my books although they have never read FF (Female/Female) Romance. I write both MF and FF, but I started writing because of the lack of Insta-Love stories in the FF world. So to have everyone be open about trying it has warmed my heart.

Last questions…

Coke or Pepsi? Coke all day! Is this even a real questions? Lol

Summer or Winter? Ugh… How about Fall!

Cat person or Dog person? Both as I have both, but I think cats are easier.

Bronte or Austen? Don’t kill me what are we talking about here?

Star Trek or Star Wars? Eh… Star Wars It’s the only one I’ve actually seen a movie or two

Chocolate or Vanilla? Depends on what we are talking here. Chocolate candy yes. Ice Cream or cake it has to be vanilla.

Chips or Cookies? Chips

Zombies or Werewolves or Vampires? Werewolves even though I was totally Team Edward

Country, Classical or Rock? Yes! I’m a listen to everything type of girl. One moment I’m booty shaking to a 90’s song, the next trying to imitate a country accent to sing along to Luke Bryan

McDonalds or Burger King? Hmm… You would think these would be easy, but these are some really hard questions. I’ll go with Burger King, although I end up in McDonalds more often.

Where can people contact you and find you online?

Thank you for being here, Pixie!!! We loved learning more about you. Good luck with your upcoming releases and I hope you'll come back and share them with us when they come out!
